I began this painting when my husband Robert was alive and completed it after his death in March of this year. This painting has great sentimental value for me. He was my critic and partner in applying rasin. I missed him very much. I know he wanted me to create more Art and I will. The Flying Squirrls, is inspired by works of John James Audoban. I read this in his words " Often, whilestraying in the feilds and woods with a book under our arm, we have been tempted to leave Homer and Aristotle unopened and tend to teachings of quadrupeds and birds.Even the gentle little flying squirrl has morethan once divertedour attention from the pages, and taught us lessons of contentment, innocense, and parental filial affection, more impressive than theological distinctions."
